BREAK FAST means...

_______________________________
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating a good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day. Don't skip breakfast.

BreakFast = break your fast.
Your body organs (example, liver) continue to work while you are sleeping; therefore, you wake up hungry and need to refuel.

Eating breakfast refuel your body AND brain the energy it needed to start out your day.  You are more likely to become tired and slow when your brain and body run low on fuel. (Sounds like the mechanism of a car. Yikes!)

With this fast-paced life style that everyone has, a faster kick off would be Coffee or something sugary like donut. What goes up must come down. Sugar and caffeine level crashes by lunch time and you are hungry, moody, and.. and... I don't know what... At this stage, you might be more prone to make quick and unhealthy choices at lunch.

Skipping breakfast is not a good choice to lose weight. In fact, people who are eating breakfast are more likely to maintain a healthy weight.

Be good to yourself by eating a healthy breakfast every morning. You will notice eating breakfast will help you perform and feel better through the morning and the rest of the day. If you feel like pizza for breakfast, then by all means because it's still a breakfast. However, a healthy breakfast means good nutrition.

Try a breakfast.
Anything with protein and sugar.
I know that some of us have no time to make breakfast -- Drink a cup of milk and grab a fruit togo.

1. Cereal box and milk carton togo
2. Cereal bars
3. Prepare oatmeal the night before
4. Ham and Cheese sandwich (toasted) - 3 mins to make
5. Fruits
6. Yogurt, Milk
7. Eggs

Don't forget to try variety of foods

Dessert

Yelp!

I was here last night with my special someone <3

After dinner, we drove to Orange for dessert. We enjoyed the Strawberry Creme Brulee waffle.  It was bomb!! Vanilla creme brulee stuffed inside a waffle with loaded of fresh strawberries.  It's a bit too sweet for my date but it sure satisfied my sweet tooth. Puaahaa. The waffle was really crispy and oooh-so-yummy.

Anyways, Bruxie is located in the city of Orange (Orange Old Town) diagonal from Chapman University. They have more than just desserts.  There are also burgers and sandwiches.  Follow link above, Yelp it for more pictures. This place seem to be popular.  I drove by this place the other night and there was a long line wrapped around the corner. The only negative about this place is limited seat and parking space - - after all, it's not a restaurant.

I would definitely come back to Orange Old Town for a walk while enjoying my dessert.

Bruxie's Sweet Menu makes me happy.

Textbooks

_____________________
High variable cost such as publishing, editing, paper, and etc., leads to high book prices.  Thanks goodness to BlackBoard, I am able to study from my notes online. However, there are some classes where textbook or more than one textbooks are required.  Worst, some classes even require us to purchase a program. If you're lucky, that program is on a disc and you can borrow from a classmate and install onto your computer.  And if you're not, you are required to purchase an "access code" that can only be used by you. Without that access code, you cannot get your notes, do your quizzes or whatever.

Being a sad college student for years, I need to find a way to save on textbooks. Here is my all time favorite website that I use to buy my books for cheap.

DealOz.com - new and used textbook price comparison.

This is good because it lists all the prices, condition of the book, shipping cost, method, and speed, different stores, and coupons all on one page. This site save myself some headache from traveling from one site to the next comparing prices.  Must I add, DealOz is a user friendly site.

Chegg.com - Rent a book

This site has been around and a known site to rent textbooks.  It's cheaper to rent sometimes.  However, there are times when rent a book cost $10 less than purchase price listed on DealOz.com.  When this happens, I'd buy the book and resale them later.

Other sources:
As far as I know,

  • CSU bookstores on campus has a selection of textbooks for rental.
  • There are always at least one off-campus bookstore nearby a college that has lower price for the same book sold at on-campus bookstore. Look for it.
  • Buy International Edition textbooks.  Make sure the content is exactly the same, book cover may be different. Look carefully if it's printed with colors too or just black fonts and charts. Online bookstores or private sellers would clearly state these infos in the description box. I saved up to $300 buying int. ed. books a semester.
  • Your books may be reserved at your campus library. Check with your professors.

When To Drink Water

____________________________
Out of the 6 classes of nutrients (Carbohydrate (CHO), Protein (PRO), Fat, Water, Vitamins and Minerals), water being the most vital nutrients in our body. Based on researchers, water has four functions: solvent, transportation, lubricant and coolant. Recently, water is found that it can reverse the deposition of foreign pollutants in our body. Oooh!

I received this interesting and informative email from my beloved sister today and I wanted to share it with you. We all need to consume water to flush out the toxins in our body.

Best Time to drink water is...

2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack

How much water should we drink everyday?

    H2O does your body good
  • Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters)
  • The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.

Eat Yo Fish!

__________________________
Why Fish? Based on University of Maryland Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential fatty acids, and "essential" means our body needs them but can' t make them - you have to get them from food. "Fish such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other seafood including algae and krill, some plants, and nut oils contains Omega-3. Omega-3 is known to lower risk of chronic diseases suchas heart disease, cancer, and arthritis." Good stuff? Eat Yo Fish.

155 5th Street
Huntington Beach, CA

Om nom nom away.... my 5 days of hair-pulling, moody, mouth watering craving for sushi was satisfied here at RA Sushi. Yup! Uh huh! Before going through my yummiliciousdytodiefor dishes, I would like to compliment on its environment and interior design.

Location location location... it's located directly across from the Huntington Beach pier and has a shorter-than-short distance walk to Main St., where the bar hopping happens.

The restaurant was evenly divided - half for bar and the other half was for diner. There were loud music, which is perfect to get the weekend night started! Ummm.... just loud music, can't really hear the rowdiness. I like the red color theme (partially it's because I laughed at my friends for looking red all night).  There were these floating light orb from the ceilings - really pretty. I didn't bring a camera, so I couldn't take a picture to share.  However, their website has a full gallery section for you to check out http://www.rasushi.com/images/food-and-drink This place is perfect for friends gathering... you know, grab a bite, grab a drink and catch up.

Happy Hours: Mon. - Sat. 3-7pm

I spoiled myself with varieties of foods so that I get nutrients from different food groups. Protein, iron, carbohydrate, vitamin c, omega-3

  1. Miso soup - all good ingredients, no powder
  2.  PORK GYOZA - potstickers served with a ponzu sauce (what is ponzu sauce? No idea, but it has a lil sour taste to it)
  3.  SHISHITO PEPPERS - sauteed - yummeeeh!
  4. SALMON CARPACCI - thinly sliced salmon sashimi with wasabi infused oil
  5. BEEF TATAKI ROLL* - artichoke, asparagus, roasted red pepper & avocado rolled & topped with seared beef; served with a creamy wasabi sauce & drizzled with black peppers
  6. CHICKEN OTOKO SALAD - grilled chicken breast tossed in a spicy yuzu dressing with grilled red & green bell peppers, served over a bed of mixed greens

And to finish it off SWEET MOCHI TRIO & COCONUT CRÈME BRULEE.

Oh man! that Coconut Creme Brulee was bomb! Foods tasted so good that I wanted to cry! No really,  I believe that foods taste better when shared or fight over with friends.
