Hello,

What can you do you prevent pregnancy when that "protection device" doesn't do its job?
I came across this article today and would like to share it with the women out there ...

6 Things You Need to Know About the Morning-After Pill

Emergency contraception use is on the rise. Read up on it now to be better prepared for a crisis

The 6 things are:

1. There’s more than one option
Pills- Plan B and Plan B One-Step (the one-pill dose), which is available over-the-counter for women 17 and older.
2. inserting a copper IUD up to five days after unprotected sex can also prevent pregnancy.
3. You have (a little) time- 72 hours may sound like a long time
4. Your period could be different
Don’t be shocked if your flow is a little off during the month that you take EC
5. It shouldn’t replace birth control
There’s a reason why this isn’t called Plan A—it’s not meant to be used as your regular birth control method.
6. The pharmacist could shut you down
This may sound crazy, but several states have laws that allow pharmacies or individual pharmacists to refuse to sell you emergency contraception, according to the Guttmacher Institute.

I need to GAIN weight

My goal: gain 15 lbs.

I'm mid twenty, weigh 90 lbs = underweight.  BMI is 18. Aarggh! I'm considered malnourished because I don't eat enough because I don't want to eat.  Although eating at my regular calories (2,200) per day should help; however, in order to gain 15 lbs, I'd need to consume 2,700kcals/day.

Fruits: 2.5 serving
Veggies: 3.5 serving
Grains: 9 ounces
Meat/Beans: 6.5 ounces
Milk: 3

I need to 'eat' 6 times a day (just because my day runs from 9:00 AM - 1:00 AM). Eat here can be a meal or a snack. Yikes! I'm going to be broke. From today until the day I reach my goal, I will....

  1. Prepare meals at home
  2. Shop sales items: yogurt 10 for $5, pasta sauce 2 for $5 and ect. (Most markets occasionally has sales Weds-Sun)
  3. Drink milk
  4. Salad is an easy snack and so is nuts, dried fruits, seeds, peanut (if you're allergic to peanut, there's peanut allergy patch, talk to your doctor)
  5. Have a structured, regular eating occasions are necessary!

Let me know if you need help in this area message me. I'll help you.

BEWARE OF RUBBER HAIR BANDS and SLIPPERS from China‏

I received an email from my sister today regarding the harm of possible used condom assembled into hair tie or slippers from China .... Don't hesitate to pass this on to your friends...

Be cautious of hair bands at open markets around the city – they are probably from China since they are purchased in bulk very very cheap !!!!

Take a good look before buying hair bands in future – specially like the following kind…..

These Hair bands were made from used condoms and threads.

BEIJING (AFP) - Used condoms are being recycled into hair bands in southern China threatening to spread sexually-transmittable diseases they were originally meant to prevent, state media reported Tuesday

In the latest example of potentially harmful Chinese-made products, rubber hair bands have been found in local markets and beauty salons in Dongguan and Guangzhou cities in southern Guangdong province, China Daily newspaper said.

'These cheap and colorful rubber bands and hair ties sell well ....... threatening the health of local people,' it said.. Despite being recycled, the hair bands could still contain bacteria and viruses, it said.

'People could be infected with AIDS, (genital) warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while waving their hair into plaits or buns,' the paper quoted a local dermatologist who gave only his surname, Dong, as saying. A bag of ten of the recycled bands sells for just Rs.5, much cheaper than others on the market, accounting for their popularity, the paper said.

A government official was quoted as saying recycling condoms was illegal. China 's manufacturing industry has been repeatedly tarnished this year by a string of scandals involving shoddy or dangerous goods made for both domestic and foreign markets.

In response, it launched a public relations blitz this summer aimed at playing up efforts to strengthen monitoring systems.

Check your kids hair bands and make sure they do not put them in their mouth while trying to plait or tie their hair .

See below for Chinese Slippers now being sold in Walmart in the US . Hopefully, they are not yet in India ....
